Interested? Want to find out more? Come along and join us to see what it is all about. We have members from all round the area. To be a Horse Vaulter you need to like horses. It helps if you have some gymnastic experience but this is not vital, and we train children from 5 years of age upwards.

Equipment for the Rider

You will need suitable close fitting, stretchy clothing such as leggings, and/or tracksuit or jogging bottoms and T shirt, and a warm top.

All beginners start on a slowly walking horse, gradually they advance to trot and canter speeds. All moves are taught and practiced on a tin/wooden horse. Each person progresses at different speeds.

The sport involves either individuals or pairs or groups of three people performing movements on a horse. Starting off with simple moves like sitting with the arms out while the horse is walking; progessing to kneelling, sitting backwards, standing up; to forward rolls and backwards flips in canter.

Above all it is a fun way of learning a sport, making friends, being involved with horses and having more fun.

We will be pleased to see you!

Come along, join us and see what it is all about, we have members from across Gwynedd.

Competitions are available to those who would like to compete - these are divided by skill level, age and ability, freestyle routines, compulsory events, individual, pairs, and team events. There are also barrel competitions on the tin horse.
