| The British Equestrian Vaulting Championships in Aberystwyth
this year were an unqualified success, with over 115 competitors. It was the largest turnout ever for a British competition, competitors came from as far afield as Japan. This year's Advanced Team winners (SEVT) had also been representing Britain internationally at the World games in Austria and performed a heart stopping routine full of grace and daring on the ever-steady WH Bentley lunged by John Eccles. It says a lot of this horse and trainer that they also carried the Individual Female and Pairs to victory. |
It was good to see Ann Hunt MBE back in the ribbons winning with
the Novice Teams, and Sue Nevil Parker's Arrow team with Earl Grey
(28) won the Intermediate team event. A special mention to ILPH Aurora Borealis, Liz Mackay and the Eagles Group winners of the Pre-novice teams who gave a secure and sympathetic freestyle. A well-deserved win by Jon Blake Male Individual and the English Vaulting Squad’s Greatly Limelight saw a well-rehearsed and polished performance. Greatly Lime light under the tutorage of Julie McNally has come on in leaps and bounds this year to show her true potential. |
